About Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is one of most enchanting neighbourhoods in Rio de Janeiro city, with exuberant nature, set on a hillside in the center of the city, it stands out for its unusual architecture and the hundred-year old yellow tranway, the major symbol of Santa Teresa, which still runs through its winding cobbled streets. You get the sensation that time has stood still. Santa Teresa is very admired thanks to its various colonial buildings and churches, its parallelepiped streets and its famous ateliers, where many carnival costumes are designed.

Writers and artists have always been seduced by the district’s charm and to its architectural and cultural treasures. Located in the heart of Rio, it provides ready access to the Christ statue of Corcovado (within one of the largest urban forests in the world) as well as to the city centre, Sambodromo and beautiful beaches.
